Lakewood Ranch retains standing
Lakewood Ranch retains standing top multigenerational, master-planned community
The RCLCO rankings also noted that Lakewood Ranch was No. 2 in total sales with 1,227, up 20% from the same period a year ago.
Lakewood Ranch retained its standing as the top selling, multigenerational, master-planned community in the U.S. according to RCLCO's mid-year study released Tuesday.
From Jan. 1 through June 30, Lakewood Ranch reported 1,227 new home sales, a 20% increase over the same period a year ago. It marked the fifth consecutive year Lakewood Ranch has held that position at mid-year.
“Post pandemic, we continue to see buyers attracted to Lakewood Ranch because of our lifestyle, multi-generational appeal, and diversity of neighborhoods,” said Laura Cole, senior vice president of LWR Communities, in a release. “In 2023 we introduced three new entry-level villages and two new luxury villages to round-out our segmentation. This provided a boost to sales."
Cole also said new home sales have benefitted from lack of inventory in the resale market.
RCLCO, a real estate consulting firm, has ranked master-planned communities since 1994.
The Villages, an adults-only community, topped overall sales in the study at 1,960.
In overall sales, Lakewood Ranch was No. 2, followed by Sunterra of Katy, Texas (669), Ontario Ranch of Ontario, California (548), and Summerlin of Las Vegas (544).
Venice's Wellen Park finished No. 13 with 430 new home sales.
The top 50 ranked master-planned communities had 7% more sales than the top 50 a year ago.
Florida communities represented 42% of the sales of all 50 ranked communities. Texas communities represented 38% of all the top ranked communities.
